Created in 1860 by John Henry “Jack” Beam, Early Times grew up during the early days of the country, when most of America was still country. The name Early Times was chosen as a tribute to the old-fashioned method of making whiskey, which included mashing grain in small tubs and distilling the whisky in copper stills over open fires. Today, the process of distilling Early Times is much more exacting, but it still delivers the unmistakable mellow taste that is reminiscent of the original American whiskey experience.
Most of the Early Times which is now sold in the U.S. cannot legally be labeled as a bourbon whiskey within the U.S., so it is labeled as "Kentucky Whisky". Some of the spirits in Early Times are aged in used barrels, while bourbon must be aged in new barrels according to the legal requirements for bourbon sold within the U.S. It is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.
Taste Profile
Color- Bright gold
Nose- Sweet honey and caramel notes with subtle oak underneath
Palate- Notes of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak. The flavors are wonderfully balanced making for a well-developed and incredibly pleasant sip. Nearly zero ethanol burn.
Finish- Unbelievably smooth. Light finish rounds out gracefully.
Alcohol- 40% Alc/vol (80 Proof)
